Tiger Limia – front glass feeding

Up front and personal with a shoal of hungry Tiger Limias.

The Tiger Limia (Limia “species”) that came into the aquarium hobby in 2002 initially was misidentified as Limia garnieri, then briefly thought to be a juvenile form of Limia nigrofasciata, the Humpback Limia. Later however, they were determined to be a new species, or probably a subspecies of L. nigrofasciata.

Feeding frenzy! Here is a short film of my Tiger Limias eating food tabs on the front glass of the aquarium. Front glass feeding is a useful way to find out, just how many fish you have in a planted aquarium :0)
